Privacy Policy

Script Pilot is a screenwriting tool. Your scripts are yours. We do not sell your data, we do not run ads, and we do not use analytics or advertising trackers of any kind — the app ships with no advertising SDK and no third-party analytics.

What we store

What	Why
Your email address	It is your login, and the only way to reset your password.
Your password	Held and hashed by Amazon Cognito. We never see it.
Your documents — screenplays, outlines, beat sheets, treatments, notes, beat maps	So they sync between your browser and your phone, and survive a lost laptop.
Images you add — Dev Board photos, key art / posters	They are part of a script's record. Stored privately under your account.
Draft history	Previous versions of a document, so an accidental deletion is recoverable.
A push token (only if you allow notifications)	To tell your phone when a long job you started has finished.

That is the whole list. We do not collect your location, your contacts, your photo library, your device advertising ID, or any usage profile of you.

The camera and photo library

The app asks for the camera or your photo library only when you add an image to a Dev Board or set a script's key art, and only the images you pick are uploaded. Nothing is scanned, indexed, or read in the background.

Who else sees it

• Amazon Web Services — hosts the app, the database, and the file storage (US East). Your documents live in private storage scoped to your account.
• The writing assistant. When you point the assistant at part of your script, that excerpt and your instruction are sent to a third-party model provider (OpenRouter) to generate the suggestion. It is not used to advertise to you. If you never use the assistant, nothing is ever sent.
• Table read (available on some accounts). If you record a table read, the dialogue in that document is sent to a text-to-speech provider to render the audio.
• Expo push service — delivers the notification if you turned them on.

We do not share your documents with anyone else, and we do not sell data to anybody, ever.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account yourself, at any time, without asking us:

• In the app: the shelf screen → Delete account.
• On the web: scriptpilot.film → your dashboard → Delete account.

Deleting is immediate and permanent. It destroys your login, every document, every stored version of every document, every image you uploaded, any table-read audio, and any push token — everything under your account. There is no recovery afterwards, so export anything you want to keep first (PDF, Final Draft .fdx, Fountain and plain text exports are all built in).

If you would rather we did it, email shortbreadapps@gmail.com from your account's email address and we will delete it for you.

Children

Script Pilot is a professional writing tool intended for adults. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Security

All traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Documents and images are stored in private cloud storage and served to your devices through short-lived signed links; accounts are isolated from each other server-side.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes with it.
